Today ' s freight trains are longer and heavier more than ever. They also operate at higher speeds and over greater distances, so it ' s more critical than ever to choose brake equipment with advanced features and a proven record. To meet the need of Korea Railroad, Daekeum Technical Institute had researched independently a couple of years in development. Our Institute has finally introduced the first Korean type ¡® KRF-3 ' Brake equipment. Our approach of diaphragm type is very successful to substitute the existing slide valve type in the world. Outstanding Braking Performance
KRF-3 Brake equipment brings much faster responses in a braking motion due to faster sensing of pressure variation in brake pipes. The faster response of this system reduces any delay of braking motion and helps the train to maintain safe speed. This air pressure sensing approach guarantees the safe and consistent braking performance compared to the approach of internal friction braking system.
Inherently Fail-Safe
A brake application is automatically initiated on all vehicles in the event of a train separation or loss of brake pipe pressure.

It does not require any lubricant equipment. It requires only a regular check-up of all valve conditions.

The key pressure characteristics of KRF-3 brake system is 5 kg/cm2 which allows mixed integration of freight Cars.
Better Braking Performance in case of Laden
It sets increasing braking powers for empty cars to control better.
Lowering the cost of maintenance
It needs simple replacement of rubber parts and timely oil supply because there is no abrasion like slide valve type which requires higher cost of parts replacement.
Empty load Parts Improvement
Air supply relay valve is adapted to covert air easily in brake cylinder in order to prevent lower barking performance and damage in lever parts.
Improved Braking Sensitivity
Rubber Diaphragm type system show the improved sensitivity in brakes.
Low defects
It lowers defect ratio compared to slide valve type which is structurally designed to cause severe friction and abrasion.
Lighter Weight of Brake Equipment
The key materials are based on nonferrous metals in order to be free from rust and to reduce the weight.
